Democracy education
demands a specific set of pedagogical knowledge and skills.
The Pharos expert team
consists of three political scientists and educators with broad
experience in the academic world and adult education.
It offers tailormade training courses for
teachers and multipliers in Southeast Europe since 2003.
Pharos has developed a special training course for journalists on the
subject of the European Union and
implements it in several SEE countries
since 2005.
The ICT training concept fit@school is servicing those who are working
in in-service teacher training with a focus on new media.
Pharos is offering trainer's training upon
request. The training concept is available in German and five SEE
languages (Serbo-Croatian, Albanian, Bulgarian, Macedonian and
Romanian).

Becavta
The Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace in Jerusalem has been
using the Becavta method for a long time with great success. It was
developed by its pedagogical director, Uki Maroshek-Klarman. This
method has been adapted and brought to former Yugoslavia by the
Pharos expert team. We have
developed a training program, trained a number of Becavta facilitators
and issued a manual.
The well-established NGO Sonnenberg Croatia has taken over the
ownership and responsibility for this program in March 2007. Pharos is
giving advice and technical assistance on a volunteer basis.
